The North Face Hydra 38 is a lightweight, full-frame pack made from durable materials. Its relatively inexpensive price tag and durable design make it a good choice for various outings. Though not as high-tech as some in this review, it’s a more approachable model for folks dabbling in the world of ultralight backpacking. The Hydra is very similar to our Best Buy Award Winner the Osprey Exos 48, though it lacks the adjustability of its popular competitor. With its reasonable price and durable construction, the Hydra held up against the Exos and other top models, though we had a few issues with its design.
