The 2016 Yeti SB5.5c X01 is a remarkable enduro bike. Our lead tester raved after his first ride: “It feels like a 4” travel trail bike climbing and a 7″ freeride bike descending.” The bike buffs out chunky rock sections and smooths out the gnar that you’d normally air over. (Don’t worry, we jump it too — the Yeti is a confident sender.) The longer travel 29er is an up and coming category and we can see why. It has the rollover benefits of the 29″ wheels without its traditional turning limitations. Normally 29ers have a distinct feel and those extra long spokes can seem like stilts. After settling in on this one, we often mistake it for a 27.5″ bike that rolls much, much faster.
