The Shimano DX M647 is a platform style clipless pedal designed for downhill mountain biking. It competes with other full platform pedals such as the HT X1, Crankbrothers Mallet DH Race, and our Top Pick winner, the Crankbrothers Mallet 3. Unfortunately, we think that Shimano needs to step up its downhill game. This pedal just feels clunky compared to the Crankbothers models.
