An announcement was made in early 2021 that the Turkish Land Forces Command would adopt a new camouflage pattern for all branches, the M2021. Although retaining a similar colour palette to the earlier nano and later Jandarma designs, incorporating shades of tan and olive green, the shapes within the pattern mark a departure from any traditional designs previously worn by Turkish forces. Various concentrations of colour are mottled together over a khaki-tan base color, giving an overall disruptive appearance. A new type of uniform was also approved by the Ministry of Defense, incorporating high-strength threads and providing a degree of water-repellency.
