Everything about it is designed to excel in complex terrain; it can be fitted with any of Black Diamond’s ice tool picks and comes with a sweet adjustable pommel. It also sports a nicely curved, teardrop-shaped shaft that provides excellent clearance while swinging or daggering up steeper terrain. While a little on the heavy side and slightly overkill for modest routes, this high-performing model has few downsides, and features an excellent price point.
