The Coleman Hyperflame Fyrecadet is a burly stove that, unfortunately, provided a mostly frustrating cooking experience. The stove offers wide 11,000 BTU burners, but its boil times weren’t overly impressive compared to the other stoves we tested – even those with lower BTUs. More importantly, when we turned the flame down to what appeared to be a nice low setting, the stove still cooked incredibly hot and fast. Simmering and sautéing were practically impossible, and we ended up with several charred meals.
