DaKine Scout Review

The DaKine Scout is a very warm product at a knock-your-socks-off killer price. Besides being warm, it has a touch screen sensitive liner enabling you to text, Facebook or surf the web, all without having to take your liner gloves off. The fit of the liner portion was a little below average but it was thin enough that we could do almost any task in them. Compared with the closely priced Columbia Air Chamber each glove has advantages: the Scout is warmer and has a touch screen liner, the Air Chamber is more durable and far more dexterous, so if you are a skier or snowboarder on a budget wanting to spend less than $50, then choose which features are most important to you. If folks want more out of their gloves and were willing to spend up to $45 more then we would recommend looking at the Black Diamond Squad ($100) and our OutdoorGearLab Best Buy award winner the Outdoor Research Southback, because they will be both more waterproof, have nicer features, be more dexterous and will be significantly more durable, but again not quite as warm.
