The GT Verb Expert was the one bike in our test selection that testers were happy to stop riding. Outdated geometry and a poor component spec made this bike the least trail worthy of all the models we tested, there was little that it did well. There are some elements of the build that help the overall performance of the GT, but it just didn’t come together well where the rubber meets the dirt. This is not to say that it can’t be used for trail riding, because it certainly can be, we would just highly recommend that anyone who wants to get into the sport take a look at any of the other bikes in our test selection first.
