The Marker Duke is the best performing downhill binding in our review. While hardly the best all-around binding, this competitor does allow you to free your heel, put skins on, and go touring. This model is best for someone who will mount it on a ski and ski primarily (more than 60% of the time) in-bounds while riding chairs, rather than earning their turns skinning up-hill. This pair of bindings is not a great option to be used primarily for touring, as it has an inefficient pivot point; it also has the heaviest weight out of all of the competitors and results in timely transitions. This model is quite capable of touring, but is more or less an excellent option for folks who will only own one set up or who want to tour occasionally without giving up skiing at the resort.
