The Marmot Chelsea Down is a classic knee-length waterproof parka, perfect for a city winter or long weekend in the mountains. Its longer length kept us protected from the elements better than the Mountain Hardwear ZeroGrand Metro Coat or The North Face Gotham Parka. It is insulated with 700-fill-power down and extremely warm. Quilt-sewn stitching in the interior discreetly hides the down, while soft polyester fabric offers a sleek and smooth appearance on the exterior. It has a knee-length cut with a mid-thigh zipper, which gives you better mobility than The North Face Arctic Down Parka or the Patagonia Downtown Loft Parka. While warmth isn’t an issue with this jacket, it does have a somewhat baggy fit. It’s not quite as stylish and form-fitting as our Editors’ Choice award winner, the Canada Goose Kensington Parka.
