The MSR Fury is an average quality two-person double wall dome tent suitable for moderate condition winter camping and moderate duty mountaineering. It misses a few critical design features that we feel are essential to an burly expedition tent. Its biggest downfall is the tent’s large sidewalls that are protected by only one vertical pole; the walls blow in, and the pole flexes easily in high winds that can go so far as to hit you in the face. The Fury is a roomy feeling tent that is suitable for many mountaineering trips in the lower 48 but we would be extra careful before taking it on many serious expeditions to a place similar to Denali.
