We love the Nemo Hornet Elite. It’s by far the best option if you want to go light but still want to keep the bugs out with a floor underneath you. As our favorite ultralight semi-freestanding tent, this is perfect for the backpacker that doesn’t want to deal with setting up a tarp. We love the two-door set-up that allows you and a friend to get in and out with ease; unfortunately, it lacks a little in space if you need to load it up with two people and a set of packs. Just be sure you’re ready to cuddle. While it’s not the lightest in the review, it’s one of the lightest amongst pole-based tent set-ups. It also offers good water resistance and a surprising level of durability. Just be sure you don’t find yourself in a massive wind storm, as the flexible poles can get blown over easily.
