Reynolds has been producing quality wheels for years and the TR 309 S continues that tradition. These lightweight carbon trail wheels are fast and nimble yet strong and durable. They are the lightest wheels in our test and they have a zesty and lively feel, especially when climbing or when you get on the gas. Despite their lightweight, they are still plenty stiff with a precise and sturdy feel when cornering or smashing through rock gardens. The freehub engagement is also pretty solid, with 5-degrees between engagement points. There was little we didn’t like about the TR 309 S wheels, but testers found them to feel less dampened than some of their competitors and occasionally somewhat twitchy at higher speeds. Otherwise, these wheels are fast, light, precise, and high performance with durability backed by a lifetime warranty.
