Not unlike Leonardo DaVinci’s painting of dogs playing poker, the Western Mountaineering Flight jacket is a masterpiece of craftsmanship and supremely high-quality materials being used to create something mystifyingly unspectacular. Though ultralight and filled with high-quality 850 fill down, the Flight jacket has a poor warmth-to-weight ratio. This is even more disappointing given the incredible workmanship used to construct this jacket, which is far superior to any jacket we tested in this review. From the zippers to the stitching and baffles, this jacket is put together with exquisite care.
